Mission Statement
The Department of Public Relations will ensure timely, accurate communication between the Marana Unified School District and the community; by promoting programs, recognitions, and the district vision; and increase public understanding and support of the district ethically and in accordance with District policies through the exchange of information and the establishment of collaborative relationships with members of the community and the media.

Department Services

  • Proactive communication with internal and external audiences
  • Point of contact for media inquiries and requests for information
  • Promote district and school programs and recognitions
  • District and school websites
  • Emergency communications
  • District Print Shop providing printing services for departments, schools and classrooms
  • District publications including The Horizon newsletter, brochures and informational materials for marketing purposes
  • Coordinate special events, awards and recognitions, and district programs
  • Prepare nominations for awards
  • Coordinate Parent Citizen Organizations
  • Liaison to the Marana Foundation for Education Excellence organization
