Pettigrew, Week of September 26-30
AR-if your child is not passing with a 60% or better they do not earn points. All points due by October 4th. We want to see 85% or better on a test. Read and Respond journal is checked daily for comprehension understanding. The journal corresponds with the book read and builds comprehension and vocabulary skills. Once a book is completed the journal is collected and filed. Test should be within 24 hours of finishing the book. 
EVERYDAY PRACTICE BASIC FACTS (addition and subtraction) and MULTIPLICATION FACTS. 

READ & RESPOND-fill out daily, kids get 30 minutes in class to read.

Social Studies-We will be doing an engineering project in class. If you can take your child to see the new bridge on Silverbell that would be great! We are discussing water-related transportation problems that faced the early explorers and settlers. Discuss with your child the benefit of bridges, why towns popped up by river crossings. Take a nature walk and collect things from nature to build a conveyance, supplies due Wednesday. If you can donate twine that would be great!
