Message from Superintendent
On behalf of the Marana Unified School District staff and members of the Governing Board, I extend my appreciation to the voters in our community who demonstrated their support for education by approving the Maintenance and Operation Override reauthorization in the special election on November 8, 2011 and the Authorization to Issue and Sell General Obligation Bonds in the special election on November 2, 2010. Through the approval of the override and bond, our District will continue to provide the highest quality education for our students.
It is important that public education is founded upon strong partnerships between schools, parents, and local communities. Elections, such as these, are an opportunity for community members to vote based on their beliefs and values. We are extremely grateful that our community showed their support for public education and commitment to our students, especially given the trying economic times in our community, state, and country.
The District also extends their appreciation to the Political Action Committee for Marana Schools as well as many other dedicated individuals who worked tirelessly to rally the support of our community. These individuals spent countless hours advocating on behalf of the students and staff in our District. Their exceptional hard work demonstrates commitment to our District and passion for quality public education in their community.
The Marana Unified School District is pleased to be a part of this community and we thank the voters for placing their trust in us.
Sincerely,
Doug Wilson, Ed.D.
Superintendent
