Meet the Associate Principal - Denese J. Chism

  • Dear Roadrunner Community:

My name is Denese Chism and I am the associate principal here at Roadrunner. I joined the Roadrunner team in 2015 and am very excited to be a part of such a great school and community. I have been an educator for over 20 years.  I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I completed my master’s degree in leadership and acquired my principal certification from Northern Arizona University. I have been married to my husband Robert for 25 years.  We have two children.  My son Michel is a student at Pima Community College and my daughter Celeste attends Northern Arizona University. In my spare time, I mostly enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy baking (I admit I am a Food Network junkie) and I am an avid sports fan. Of course, the Arizona Wildcats are my favorite team.

The majority of my professional career has been at the elementary level and also includes four years at the middle school level. I have three years of previous experience as an assistant principal with the Flowing wells School District prior to coming to Marana. I’m thankful to be part of such a forward-thinking district that not only strives to provide our students with a strong academic foundation, but also takes pride in developing their character as well. I am excited to work alongside Ms. Brewer and our amazing staff here at Roadrunner to provide our young scholars with a challenging environment that supports and encourages creative thinking, decision making, good character, and respect for one another.
