Meet the Associate Principal - Denese J. Chism

  • Denese J. ChismGreetings Roadrunner Families and Community,

I am the proud Associate Principal here at Roadrunner Elementary School. I am incredibly grateful and honored to serve the scholars, staff and families of our school community. I work in partnership with Ms. Brewer to advocate and provide all scholars and families a positive educational experience where values and diversity are celebrated in a safe and supportive learning environment. I believe that with a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and good character our scholars can achieve great things and reach beyond their expectations to become lifelong learners who will make the world a better place. I strive each day to instill those qualities in our young people and to be a positive role model as well.

Before joining the Roadrunner community in 2015, I was an Elementary Assistant Principal for three years in a neighboring school district. Prior to that, I had the privilege of working as a classroom teacher for 15 years at various school districts in both the elementary and middle school level. These experiences provided me with unique learning opportunities that have influenced me as a leader. Outside of work, my husband Robert and I enjoy spending time with our family and grandchildren. I enjoy mountain biking, baking and exploring the outdoors.

I look forward to another great year of working with our scholars, teachers and parents. It takes everyone in a child’s circle of influence to help them develop academically, socially and emotionally. You can count on me to work alongside Ms. Brewer to provide leadership and build a structure of collaborative relationships in the school and community so that ALL scholars have a variety of opportunities to succeed!
