    Mr. Woods is our new school counselor at Estes, and he is very excited to be here.  He received his B.A. in Elementary Education from American University in 1992.  He gained his M.A. in School Counseling from George Washington University in 2008.  Before his time at Estes, Mr. Woods has worked as a K-2nd grade teacher for 11 years.  He also has 8 years’ experience as both an elementary and high school counselor.  This will be his fourth year serving in the Marana Unified School District.

    Mr. Woods will also be wearing many different hats while at Estes.  He will be teaching weekly, social/emotional lessons, providing individual counseling, creating small groups to address student concerns (i.e. anger management, friendships, coping skills, self-esteem), and providing responsive services to families in need. 

    In his free time, Mr. Woods likes to travel, work out, spend time with friends and family and play with his two French Bulldogs (Beau and Rocky). 

    Rachel Jaffe Rachel Jaffe, MA, MS, NCC

    Title One Counselor - email  

    Mrs. Jaffe has been the Title One Counselor at Estes since the end of 2018. She spent 10 years in the U.S. Air Force doing intelligence analysis. During this time, She received her B.A. from AMU in Criminal Justice in 2008, as well as an M.A. from AMU in Criminal Justice and Behavior Analysis. Upon leaving the military, she moved back to Arizona to attend Grand Canyon University, where she received her M.S. in Professional Counseling in 2017. 

    Before coming to Estes, Mrs. Jaffe worked as an inpatient therapist, as well as outpatient, in the Tucson area. She is passionate about helping those in need of behavioral health care, and providing trauma-informed care. When she isn’t working at helping others, she spends time with her husband and three kids, and loves to travel in and out of the country.
