Meet the Principal - Ms. Persaud
I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to lead a school with high-performing students, an extremely dedicated crew, and a supportive school community. This year our theme is “Space to Grow.” We continue to grow in our student enrollment numbers, our staffing numbers, and this year we will open up a new building on campus that will provide six additional classroom spaces! While we are growing in physical numbers, the growth that we are embarking on is also reflected in our thinking and ways of being. Our district has recently adopted a new literacy curriculum, and teachers spent part of their summer participating in professional development in order to implement this new curriculum on campus during the upcoming school year.
This year, we will continue to grow in our relationships and continue to grow a collaborative school culture focused on student achievement and excellence. At Gladden Farms Elementary, we value safety, respect, responsibility, and kindness. These values are the heart of our school and are embodied by all teachers, staff, and students.
This year marks my 19th year of experience as an educator. I have worked across a variety of educational levels, from pre-kindergarten teacher to university lecturer. My focus has been geared toward the empowerment of elementary school children and working collaboratively with diverse groups of professionals. My background and training has focused on quality instructional programs and frameworks, including Expeditionary Learning (EL), STEM, and International Baccalaureate (IB).
My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends, traveling, playing board games, and reading. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and love the Braves and Falcons. I am also on the board of a non-profit, Wheel Fun, which provides mountain bikes to afterschool programs.
I look forward to partnering with you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
As principal, Ms. Persaud oversees school leadership and educational services.
