Meet the Principal - Joshua Bayne
I am honored to serve as the principal of Butterfield Elementary and excited about this first year! I joined the Marana Unified School District six years ago, having spent the last five as an Associate Principal at Marana Middle School. I am a Tucsonan born and raised, and very proud to call Marana my home. My wife Jessie works in our school district as well as the Instructional Technologist Coordinator. You may see her from time to time supporting students and teachers with technology in the classroom. We have one child, Parker, who is in preschool. Currently we enjoy building with Legos, riding bikes through the neighborhood and reading Star Wars books!
This is my twelfth year in education and I am honored to be the new principal at Butterfield. I look forward to getting to know and working with our Bobcat community. The teachers and staff work hard to provide a culture of learning, inspiring students each day. They also put a priority on connecting with their students and getting to know them beyond a classroom assignment.
Our mission at Butterfield is to challenge all students to achieve academic and personal excellence in a powerful, relevant and supportive learning environment. We are committed to meeting the needs of every student and providing an well-rounded education. Working together with our parents and families, it is our goal to help grow our community of learners by setting the example and highlighting our success.
Our PBIS rules are Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Productive. Butterfield is also a kind campus and regularly participates in activities that promote the Be Kind movement.
I appreciate your support and partnership to facilitate your child’s education. I encourage all families to become involved in our school by joining our BCAC parent group, volunteering in the classroom and providing homework support. Please stop by and visit Butterfield, we are a paws-itiively great!
