Community Enjoys Butterfield Elementary School 40th Anniversary!
-
Butterfield Elementary School students, parents, current and former staff, and alumni celebrated a VERY SPECIAL anniversary on Friday, December 7, 2018. Celebrating 40 incredible years of academic excellence and exceptional service to the families in the Marana community, Butterfield Elementary welcomed guests to a special school-wide assembly at 7:45am with special guest speakers and a school/community group photo.
Guests were also invited to enjoy an evening of celebration and shared remembrances with friends old and new. The special night, highlighted by fine arts, began with entire families of Bobcats filling up the "North Pole" (Cafeteria) for some amazing performances from MUSD students! A wonderful rendition of Polar Express was performed by 2nd grade Bobcats (you can watch it at https://bit.ly/2C0F6uM) as well as performances by the 5th & 6th Grade Bobcat Chorus, Tortolita Middle School Choir, and the Mountain View High School Orchestra.
“Butterfield Bobcats have excelled for forty years and we couldn’t be more proud to celebrate this day than with our amazing community,” states Joshua Bayne, Butterfield Elementary principal. “Butterfield is a community of learners and a community of leaders and our incredible school has served generations of families always with the commitment to bring our students' goals, dreams and visions to fruition. We believe that these goals and dreams are an investment in the future of our community.”
Art activities were offered for children of all ages, everyone sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed birthday cake while drinking hot cocoa and visiting with Billy the Bobcat! It was a wonderful night and a GRAND celebration! Congratulations Butterfield, on 40 YEARS of education and such a wonderful community celebration!
