21 CCLC Class Descriptions

  • Welcome to Picture Rocks Elementary. Below you will find CCLC class descriptions that relate to the CCLC After School Class Schedule. All classes are FREE and will run all Semester from January 18 - May 12, 2022. There are no classes on 2/10, 2/24, 3/10, 3/17-3/17. All supplies are included. Registration opens on Monday, December 6th at 8 AM. 

    Deadline to submit registration: January 2, 2022 at 11:59 PM.

    Class Descriptions

    Angry Birds Fun and Engineering (Gr. 3-6)
    We will draw angry birds in different settings and create short comics to create a journal/book.(writing involved) We will also start building a large angry bird/pig nest they we will try to knock down using light balls to rescue the baby birds.

    Animal Adventures (Gr. K-2)
    Join us! We will learn about chickens, rabbits, goats and more! You will learn how to care for them and create fun art projects.

    Around The World (Gr. K-2)
    A look around the world at amazing food, art, science and architecture. We will open our eyes to other cultures and experience a visual vacation across the globe.

    Art the Recycled Way! (Gr. K-2)
    Come and create fine art with recycled materials! Whether it is sculpture, bas-relief (flat surface with 3-D) or functional art.

    Artistic Expressions (Gr. 3-6)
    Welcome to Artistic Expressions! We will draw and paints our very own creations. Relax after a long day at school and just be creative. Class will be teacher lead and student centered.

    Beading and Jewelry (Gr. K-2)
    Explore all the different things beads can be used for! Jewelry, keychains, beaded animals and more.

    Cardiac Drumming (Gr. 2-6)
    Cardio Drumming: This is an aerobic class to music. We will “drum” on yoga balls to the beat. We will dance, sweat and have fun to music. (We will be counting and some math facts will be included.)

    Coding (Gr. 3-6)
    This club will lead students through the basics of web development and coding, including HTML, CSS, and Javascript. This will allow them to create their own website, animations, and more with an adaptable learning platform!

    Comic Book Friends (Gr. K-2)
    In this club, students will create various stories to portray in comic books, illustrating the story line with short bits of text containing dialogue, sounds, or narratives.

    Down the Rabbit Hole (Gr. K-2)
    Fun, creative Alice in Wonderland crafts and treats!

    Drama Kids (Gr. K-3)
    Drama kids gives students the confidence to be participants in all aspects of their lives and able to ask questions, seek answers, and share information with others. Come have fun and learn some acting skills.

    Drone Piloting Club (Gr. 3-6)
    We will be covering all the operations of a drone: the parts, how to use, how to fly it, how to follow a course, and how to take pictures. By the end, students will chart a course, and will take pictures along the way.

    Epic Disasters (Gr. K-2)
    This class will be all about science experiments! Sticky projects, slime making and a wind tunnel fun. We will be measuring our potions and making predictions.

    Making the Moves (Gr. 3-6)
    Come and enjoy an energizing hour of gettin your groove on! Enjoy learning line dances and freestyle dancing to school appropriate hip hop music! Get ready to get sweaty and have a ton of fun!

    Minecraft (Master) Engineering using LEGO® (k-2) and (3-6)
    Venture into the world of Minecraft in our unique LEGO® experience. K-2 students will get ready to build their base, craft their tools, use their Minecart to harvest raw resources, and battle to stop the Ender Dragon from ending the world. Students in grades 3-6
    will build shelters to keep out Creepers, craft mystical items that only true masters could wield, and perfect their crossbow skills to stop the Wither from taking over! If you can imagine it, you can build it.

    Picture Rocks Handbell Choir (Gr. 4-6)
    This is an exciting performing group for 4th through 6th grade students that meet 2 days a week, and will perform at school and after school.

    Skyhawks Basketball (Gr. 3-6)
    This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate athletes. An active week of passing, shooting, dribbling and rebounding makes this one of our most popular programs. Kids will also learn vital life lessons such as respect, teamwork and
    responsibility.

    Skyhawks Kickball (Gr. 3-6)
    One of the Country’s most popular sporting activity, Kickball has long been a staple in Gym classes and after school activities. With Skyhawks professional Staff and equipment, we take this playground game to the next level as a professional, yet fun Sport!

    Skyhawks Mini Hawks (Gr. K-2)
    Skyhawks Mini Hawks program range from soccer and baseball to our popular multi-sport programs. Students in grades K-2 will learn fundamentals, sports basics, develop skills and gain confidence through sports.

    Skyhawks Soccer (Gr. K-2)
    Skyhawks is the nation’s #1 program for learning the fundamentals of soccer. Using our progressive curriculum, children will gain the technical skills and sport knowledge required for that next step into soccer.

    PE Games (Gr. K-2)
    Join us for outside physical activities. We will learn new games and how to be a team player!

    Tabletop Games (Gr. 2-6)
    Would you like to challenge your friend to your favorite board or card game? Are you interested in learning some new card games or relaxing after school to a calming board game? Then this is for you! Get your BFF to join you for an hour of gaming fun!

    Talent Show (Gr.3-4 and 5-6)
    We are thrilled to announce Picture Rocks is having a talent show this year! We are looking for dedicated, hard working, and creative individuals and groups to participate! The talent show is an opportunity to show your creativity! In order to be in the Talent Show,
    you must be in the Talent Show Club to practice and perform your routine!

    Tutoring and Homework Help (Gr. K-6)
    Do you need help with your school work? Come join us and stay ahead!

    Sewing (Gr. 5-6)
    In this class students will learn the basics of machine sewing. Our projects will include quilt pillow, a tote bag, and a stuffed animal.
