Dove Mountain’s 6th Period GEM Elective students earned their Wright Flight Fly Day on Saturday, March 26, at the Tucson International Airport. Students each had an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime experience by piloting a small aircraft as a reward for successfully completing the program.
These students participated in the Voyager Program, which teaches them how to read and use airplane navigation instruments, as well as how to create their own flight plan using a navigational plotter. Students also had to complete set and achieve a personal goal, complete volunteer hours, and pass both the Final Exam and a Boldface Safety Test to qualify for this exciting opportunity.
