  • IMAGE: Music notes Marana Winds musical group, formed in 2013, consists of talented musicians who have joined together to share their love of music with the community and to help raise money for Marana schools. The group is made up of faculty and staff from the Marana district, students, alumni, and community members.

     

    Offering a FREE concert to the public each Spring, Marana Winds represents and supports Marana Schools, while continuing to perform in honor of the original Founder Todd Ponder.

     Calling All Musicians! Share your love of music and join Marana Winds to perform in the 2019 community concert. Rehearsals are scheduled and we hope you can join us! Email Jake Phillips at Tortolita Middle School to join this group of talented musicians.

     

    Rehearsals are at Tortolita Band Room from 6:30-8:30pm on February 5 & 19; March 5; April 2 & 16. Dress Rehearsal is Monday, April 29 at MVHS Auditorium from 6:30-8:30pm.

    Mark Your Calendar: FREE to the Public, the Marana Winds Community Concert is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 7:00pm in the Mountain View High School auditorium.

     

    The program will include

    • “Summon the Heroes” - John Williams/arr. Paul Lavender
    • “October” - Eric Whitacre
    • “Lightning Field” - John Mackey
    • “Barnum and Bailey's Favorite” - Karl L. King/arr. Schissel
