Academic Diploma Seals

A field of MVHS graduates

Marana Unified School District high schools offer academic diploma seals recognizing students for their achievements in key areas of study including Arts Proficiency, Biliteracy, Civics Literacy, and Personal Finance.

Academic diploma seals acknowledge high school students who demonstrate proficiency in related coursework, complete additional examinations, and participate in extracurricular tasks. Students earning these seals will have them affixed to their diplomas and noted on their transcripts, and they will be honored during end-of-year celebrations and graduation ceremonies. Additionally, students who earn a seal will qualify to wear a special cord at graduation for each seal they earn.

  • Arizona Seal of Arts Proficiency: Recognizes students who demonstrate proficiency in the Arizona Arts Education Standards through personal expression and creative experiences in arts education programs including Music, Dance, Media Arts, Theatre, and Visual Arts.
  • Arizona Seal of Biliteracy: Recognizes students who achieve proficiency in English and at least one additional language.
  • Arizona Seal of Civics Literacy: Awards students who achieve proficiency in Civics, showing a deep understanding of the principles of civic engagement and government.
  • Arizona Seal of Personal Finance: Honors students who demonstrate a high level of proficiency in personal finance education.
