Food Services
Department Overview
The Marana Unified School District Food Services Department operates 16 school kitchens within the District offering breakfast and lunch on a daily basis during the school year. Each kitchen is staffed with a School Nutrition Association Certified Cafe Supervisor and several Cafe Workers.
The Department also operates year round providing breakfast and lunch through the summer food program and Marana Cares Mobile.
All meals meet strict nutrition standards set by the USDA, the Wellness Policy, and are aligned with appropriate calorie limits, large servings of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, strict sodium targets and limits on saturated fat and portion sizes containing no trans fats.
Each school Cafe Supervisor orders, receives, and prepares their own food, directly at each school.
Food Services operates with a staff of appox. 100 employees serving on average, over 9,000 meals each and over 1.6 million meals a year.

Nicole Pargas, Director of Health Services, received her Nationally Certified School Nurse credential and will be presenting at the National Board of School Nurses Annual Conference this year!
