Meet the Assistant Principal - Tracey Klell

  • Tracey Klell Hello Estes Families,

As your new Assistant Principal I would like to take a moment and share a little about myself.  My childhood experiences had a tremendous impact on who I am today.  My dad was in the military so I traveled and moved around a lot.  I was born in Anchorage, Alaska and lived overseas for most of my childhood.  Stationed in Panama and Germany, I was exposed to many different cultures at a young age and I developed the ability to build strong relationships quickly as well as understand and appreciate diversity.  Tucson, AZ has been my home since 1992.

My educational experience includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Arizona.  I began my career as a classroom teacher at Desert Winds Elementary where I taught 1st and 2nd grade.  Last year I was a part of the Picture Rocks Intermediate and Desert Winds Elementary merger, where I taught 2nd grade.  Being a part of two schools merging was a wonderful experience because I was able to contribute to building and sustaining a positive school culture and climate.

This will be my 6th year working in the Marana Unified School District, and I have been a part of the MUSD community since 2006.  My two children have attended the Quail Run Elementary Preschool Program, Ironwood Elementary, Tortolita Middle School and Mt. View High School.  As a proud parent and teacher of the MUSD community, it has been my ultimate dream to become an administrator in our amazing district.

I am extremely thrilled to be your Assistant Principal at Estes Elementary School.  I have felt at home since the moment I walked onto our beautiful campus, instantly feeling welcome due to the amazing school culture.  I am ready to make a positive impact on students’ academic achievements and attainment to a life long love for learning.  I will inspire and encourage students and staff to be the best they can be inside and outside of the classroom.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Martyn, my 15 year old son Kyle and my 11 year old daughter Ryleigh.  My children spend most of their free time playing baseball and softball, so if you are at the ballpark the chances of running into my family and I are extremely high.  Health and fitness are extremely important to me, I like to workout at home everyday and go hiking with my family on the weekends and breaks.

I am beyond excited to be a part of the Estes school community and family. I am looking forward to a rewarding school year at Estes Elementary.
