Kindergarten (FREE Full Day)
The Marana Unified School District recognizes the significant importance of early education and its impact on future academic success. MUSD test results show students exposed to full-day kindergarten have greater success in learning essential early academic skills.
Our full-day kindergarten program is developmentally and individually appropriate in addressing cognitive, social, emotional and physical areas of development. The extra time for the full-day program allows teachers to challenge students, provide for differentiated instruction, and spend extra time on difficult concepts.
Aligned with the Arizona Academic Standards, the program includes:
- Language and Literacy Instruction
- Exploration: Science Experiments, Social Studies Projects/Activities, and other standards-based activities to support instruction.
- Special Areas: Art, Music and Physical Education. Special area classes are balanced, developmentally appropriate and standards-based.
- Lunch and Recess
Parents of students five (5) years of age prior to September 1* of the current school year may register at an MUSD elementary school. *Exception may apply: contact the school principal to discuss.
Registration begins in January and parents are encouraged to register early.
Parents may pick up a registration packet to complete at home and return to their area school. Once enrolled, students will sign up for a Kindergarten Screening Day.
