From the Attendance Clerk - Holly Baker
Hello! My name is Holly Baker. I have worked for Marana School District since 2016, first at Marana High School and now as the Attendance Clerk at Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary School. I have two daughters who have attended MUSD schools since 2013. I work closely with our school secretary, Jana Aguiar in the front office. I am responsible for documenting attendance, absences, and tardies. I am also responsible for enrolling students and keeping a record of student attendance for the entire school.
Reporting Student Absence
To report a student’s absence please call at 520-352-7001 and include the following information:
- Student’s first and last name
- Teacher’s name
- Reason for absence
- Planned date of return
- Contact number
Please note that notifying the classroom teacher DOES NOT excuse your child's absence. You must call each and every day your child will be absent, or you may leave one message with the duration of the absence i.e. "out of town back on (specific date)".
Ask for a doctor’s note when absent to attend a doctor, dentist, or any type of medical appointment. A Doctor’s note can to brought in by parent, sent with student, or faxed to 520-744-3274.
Tardies: It is very important for students to report to school on time. Children coming late to school must report to the office to receive a tardy pass before going to the classrooms. If a student is not in their classroom and in their seat by 7:45 am, they are considered late.
In order to have a child released from school, a parent must come to the office in person. Students will be released only to their parents or an officially designated representative. All persons signing out a student must be 18 years of age or older. Please be prepared to show picture I.D. Please keep in mind that students are not always in the classroom and it can sometimes take a few minutes to locate them and get them to the office.
