I am pleased to welcome you and your child to Marana Middle School. I look forward to getting to know you and assisting in anyway that I can. Please take a few minutes to review some important processes below so that we can work together to ensure your child has a great experience at MMS.
Picking up students
If you are picking your child up early, send them with a note so that they can pick up an early release pass during 1st period. You may also call an hour prior to picking up your child. This helps ensure that your child is notified in time to be waiting for you.*** Be prepared to show proper I.D. to pick up your child.
Phone calls
Do not request that a student be pulled out of class to call home unless it is an ABSOLUTE emergency. Non-emergency calls disrupt your child's learning. If you call and leave a message for your child, we will deliver the message.Transportation
If you need your child to ride a different bus home, please send a note to school and have your child take it to the front office. The note should include the address or bus stop your student needs to go to after school. In addition, please include your phone number so we can verify your request. You can also email your bus pass request to Michele Brooks.*** Please note that on Fridays and Early Release Days bus passes will be issued on an emergency basis only due to limited space on buses.
Homework
To request homework, your child must be absent for three consecutive school days prior to the request. You must request the homework 24 hours prior to picking up the work. This allows your child's teachers to gather the assignments. Feel free to check your child's STUDENTVUE or your PARENTVUE account as many times links to assignments or copies of assignments are loaded there to assist with making up missed work. It is expected that the work be completed upon your child's return to school.Contact Information
