Several MHS athletes and their coaches were recognized by Southern Arizona Media for their outstanding performances during their respective seasons of boys' tackle football and girls' flag football.

Rattlesnake Ridge 6th grade student Bryant Banzhaf claimed the title of Spelling Bee champion. Other spelling bee winners hailed from Twin Peaks K-8, Marana Middle, Tortolita Middle, and Butterfield Elementary.

Luke Villarreal, Senior at MVHS, received an early acceptance to the United States Naval Academy. With an 11% acceptance rate annually, Luke is one of about 1,500 candidates selected from 13,000 applicants.
