Program Description:

The Laboratory Assisting program prepares students to support clinical laboratory teams by performing approved testing procedures, basic phlebotomy, and other supervised tasks.

  • Instruction includes clinical procedures, lab testing, laboratory math, equipment operation and maintenance, sterilization and safety practices, computer applications, and communication skills.
  • The program is delivered through a coherent sequence of classroom and work-based learning experiences, with Arizona’s Professional Skills integrated throughout. Students also develop leadership and career skills through participation in HOSA, Future Health Professionals.
