Kiwanis Club of the Desert Invests in Student Musicians

Marana Unified School District extends its appreciation to the Kiwanis Club of the Desert and the Kiwanis Club of San Xavier for its ongoing commitment to supporting Marana students through the gift of music.
The Kiwanis Club of the Desert donated $7,985 worth of musical instruments including drum mallets and roller pairs, a jam block, an oboe, two alto saxophones, two trumpets, two clarinets, and two flutes to Tangerine Farms K-8. The gift helps expand access to music education for students who might not otherwise have the resources to purchase or rent instruments, and the instruments were presented during a school assembly.
Additionally, Dove Mountain CSTEM K-8 and Tangerine Farms K-8 also received a piano keyboard, guitar manuals, a guitar stand, a guitar case, a music stand, and four amplifiers, resources that will strengthen music instruction and classroom experiences for students.
This generous initiative was also made possible with financial support from:
- Vulcan Materials Company
- Kiwanis Club of De Amigos
- Trico Electric Cooperative
- CalPortland Rillito Cement Plant
- Trish Winter-Hunt, Microsoft
This marks the fourth consecutive year the Kiwanis Club has donated musical instruments to MUSD schools. Previous recipients include Estes Elementary School, Roadrunner Elementary School, and Marana Middle School.
Marana Unified School District is grateful to the Kiwanis Club of the Desert and our community partners for helping ensure that every student has the opportunity to discover their passion for music!
