Marana High School 2026 Hall of Fame Inductees Announced!

The Marana Alumni Association is proud to announce the Marana High School 2026 Hall of Fame inductees, Dr. Cynthia Elliott, the Honorable Sarah L. Mayhew, and Dr. Chelsea Elise Johnson.
Each of these distinguished alumni exemplifies excellence in their profession and a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and giving back. As respected leaders in healthcare and public service, they are true pillars of the community whose achievements and impact continue to inspire students, alumni, and the greater Marana community.
Dr. Cynthia Elliott is a Class of 1981 graduate of Marana High School. Cynthia is an accomplished Family Nurse Practitioner whose career in healthcare spans nearly four decades. She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University and earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) through dedication and a strong work ethic that carried her from charge nurse to advanced clinical leadership. Throughout her career, Dr. Elliott has remained deeply committed to service and education, mentoring nursing and nurse practitioner students, leading medical studies, volunteering on medical mission trips, and contributing to the profession as a published author.
Honorable Sarah L. Mayhew is a Class of 1991 graduate of Marana High School. Sarah is a highly accomplished jurist and attorney with a distinguished record of academic and professional achievement. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and history, then earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona College of Law, where she ranked first in her class. Before her appointment to the bench, Judge Mayhew practiced as a criminal defense attorney and dedicated her time to volunteer work in immigration and asylum cases, reflecting a deep commitment to justice and public service.
Dr. Chelsea Elise Johnson, MD is a Class of 2008 graduate of Marana High School. Chelsea is a dedicated family medicine physician and Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Banner Cortaro. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and her medical degree from West Virginia University. During her final year of residency at the University of Arizona South Campus, she served as Chief Resident, demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to excellence in patient care. Dr. Johnson’s passion for service extends beyond the clinic, as she provides healthcare to underserved populations and offers financial and personal support to children in need, reflecting her deep commitment to community well-being.
