Mrs. Vroegh Receives Spirit of Marana Award!

Congratulations to Mrs. Shelly Vroegh, Tortolita Middle School principal, recipient of the 2025 Spirit of Marana Award! She is described as a selfless leader who has passionately moved the needle at TMS, inspiring and guiding staff, teachers and students from an F-rated school to a B-rated school. Being labeled as a failing school was challenging not only for her, but the whole school community. Shelly is credited with stepping into her role fully, changing the narrative of the school culture, and launching TMS into an amazing middle school for the community. Shelly is retiring after this year. Congratulations on receiving this well-deserved award!
