MUSD Hosts Successful Governing Board Summit
On Friday, October 4, Marana Unified School District brought together nearly 180 key stakeholders from across the community - school and district administrators, parents, teachers, business leaders, Town of Marana leadership, community partners, faith-based leaders, higher education representatives, and even students - to help lay the foundation for the District’s strategic planning process.
With all schools and programs represented, Dr. Streeter guided participants through a half-day of learning and conversation about the district, our schools and students, and our current landscape. Roundtable topics encouraged participants to discuss the skills and traits students need to be successful in today’s world both in school and following graduation. The district’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges were also discussed. The students were active participants, sharing their input and perspectives, and some even courageously spoke on behalf of their tables!
“This summit represents an important step in shaping the future of our schools, and community input is crucial in guiding our shared vision for the district,” said Dr. Streeter, superintendent. “Together, we will create a brighter, more innovative future for our students and community.”
The event was positive and we appreciate guests taking a morning to engage with us about the future of Marana Schools.
