MVHS Students Shine in National Spanish Language Competition

Students at Mountain View High School have earned national recognition for their performance on the 2026 National Spanish Exam (NSE), continuing the school’s strong tradition of achievement in world language education.
The National Spanish Exam is administered annually by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese and is open to students in grades 6 through 12 across the United States. Students who perform well on the NSE may qualify for recognition and scholarship opportunities through the AATSP Exams program. The NSE is the largest Spanish language assessment of its kind in the country.
A total of 86 Mountain View High School students participated in this year’s exam. Together, they earned two gold medals, two silver medals, and six bronze medals, along with 16 honorable mentions. Their accomplishments reflect the dedication, perseverance, and hard work demonstrated throughout their Spanish studies.
Their success has been supported by the school’s Spanish department, including Mr. Venegas, the NSE coordinator, along with Mrs. Padilla, Mr. Deeb, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Abella. Special recognition also goes to the MVHS Spanish Club members for their support during the event.
