Use Of Technology Resources In Instruction

  • These policies shall apply to all: 

    • Users of electronic information services that are utilized by and associated with the Marana Unified School District (MUSD).
    • Users who obtain their access privilege through association with the District. 

    Personal responsibility: 

    • I agree to notify any abuse of the network to the School Administration. Abuse can come in many forms, but is generally perceived as sending or receiving material that exhibits or suggests pornography or unethical or illegal behavior. This includes racism, sexism, or unacceptable language, or violation of the rules published in this agreement. It also includes any violation of any adopted Governing Board policy, regulation, or procedure. 

    Acceptable use rules: 

    • I agree that my use of electronic information services must be in support of education, research, and the educational goals and objectives of the District.
    • I will utilize electronic information services for educational purposes only.
    • I agree not to submit, publish, display, store or retrieve any defamatory, factually inaccurate, abusive, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, racially offensive, or illegal material.
    • I will abide by all copyright regulations.
    • I will not disclose on any web page information including passwords, student addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, whether personal or District.
    • I understand that electronic mail is not private. I also understand that electronic mail is subject to inspection by others at any time.
    • I will not utilize the network in any way that would disrupt the use of the network by others.
    • I understand that many services and products are available for a fee and acknowledge that I am responsible for any expenses incurred.
    • I will not utilize the network for commercial purposes.
    • I will follow all rules of the MUSD code of conduct while using electronic information services.
    • I will not attempt to harm, modify, or destroy hardware or software, or interfere with system security.
    • I will not connect any computer (laptop, notebook, desktop) to the District network without the knowledge and approval of the Technology Department.  
    • I will not use District EIS resources for private or personal reasons except as follows:  Reasonable occasional personal use of a casual, non-business nature will be permitted as long as such use is incidental in nature, violates no other principle of District EIS policies, regulations or rules, does not interfere with the efficient operation of the network, and does not detract from educational or job performance. 


    • The use of the electronic information services is a privilege, not a right, and may be rescinded at any time. 


    • The District reserves the right to log the use of all systems and monitor file server space utilization. Should it become necessary, files may be deleted.
    • The system administrator may cancel any account at any time.
    • The District is not responsible for any service interruptions, changes, or consequences arising from, even if these originate from circumstances under the control of the District.
    • The District makes no warranties of any kind, regardless of whether expressed or implied. Services are provided on an "as is, as available" basis.
    • The District reserves the right to enact rules and regulations essential for the efficient administration of the electronic information systems. 


    • Violation of the prerequisites set forth in this Electronic Information Services Agreement may result in suspension or termination of access privileges and/or appropriate disciplinary actions.
    • Inappropriate operation in violation of state and federal statutes will be subject to prosecution by those authorities. Disciplinary action may be taken by the District as appropriate.
    • The administration, faculty, and staff of MUSD may direct the school administrator to withhold specific user accounts.
