Tortolita GEM students win big at the AZ MATE Regional Underwater ROV Competition
Congratulations to Tortolita Middle School GEM students who placed 2nd at the 2019 AZ MATE Regional Underwater ROV Competition!
A team of 5 students competed against 30 other teams and brought home the silver!
This innovative, challenging, and unique robotics event was held on April 27, 2019 at the University of Arizona.
The MATE (Marine Advance Technology Education) ROV Competition is about student learning. It is designed to be an event that challenges students to apply the physics, math, electronics, and engineering skills they are learning in the classroom to solving problems from the marine workplace.
