Stacy Bansback 7th Grade Teacher Recognized by Tucson Values Teachers

Stacy Bansback with school administrators and Tucson Values Teachers, and Office Max/Office Depot Representatives. Congratulations to Stacy Bansback, 7th grade teacher at Tortolita Middle School, presented with the Tucson Values Teachers and OfficeMax/Office Depot Teacher Excellence Award on Monday, April 23, 2018.

This special award shines a spotlight on individual teachers who go above and beyond and bring that extra something special into the classroom.

Ms. Bansback’s glowing nomination shared the following: “Mrs. Bansback goes above and beyond for her students. She gives up her lunch break to tutor students who need extra help, she coaches soccer and volleyball after school, she buys supplies for kids who can’t afford them, and donated dressers and beds to students who need them. She is a strong advocate for her students and makes sure they get the help they need.”

Mrs. Bansback, an 18-year teacher, has worked her last 11 years in Marana Unified School District and the last six at Tortolita. In addition to teaching math, she serves as the lead for the Math Department. She also works as a homebound teacher, providing instruction for students that are unable to leave their homes.

Ms. Bansback received a $100 gift card from OfficeMax/Office Depot, $250 cash courtesy of Tucson Electric Power and Helios Education Foundation, and school supplies.
