Oct 19th In-Person Back to School Plan Expands with Detailed Mitigation and Small Group Transition Activities
The Marana Unified School District (MUSD) Return to School Task Force continues to plan for the Safe and Thoughtful Return to School, aligned with the Arizona Department of Education Roadmap for Reopening Schools and Governor Ducey's Executive Order 2020-51 - Arizona: Open for Learning. As the metrics in Pima County continue to trend in a positive direction, MUSD continues to move closer to October 19th, the date set by the Marana Unified School District Governing Board for a return to safe in-person, modified hybrid classroom instruction.
Two recent additions to the MUSD Safe and Thoughtful Return to School Plan, include an update to the Health Mitigation Plan and the announcement of Small Group Transition Activities, as the district has begun to identify ways to bring specific students back onto campuses beginning the week of September 28th, in small groups, for transition type activities.
Examples of potential transition activities may include:
7th Grade orientation
9th Grade orientation
New student orientation
High School athletics groups
High School CTE student skills groups
While more information will come directly from your child’s school regarding the timelines for these types of activities, please continue to refer to the MUSD Safe and Thoughtful Return to School Plan for a review of all communications, and easy-to-follow outlines of the three high-quality learning options available for students and families:
