Public Notice: Governing Board Approves Boundary Change
On Thursday, October 25, 2018, the Governing Board of the Marana Unified School District voted to change current attendance boundaries for DeGrazia Elementary, Ironwood Elementary, and Tortolita Middle School.
The boundary change provides the ability to implement attendance boundaries associated with the opening of a K-8 CSTEM School at 5650 W. Moore Rd., Marana, Arizona, 85658 (Dove Mountain) and for future housing development. This school, scheduled to open August 2019, is made possible through the voter supported Capital Improvement School Bond.
The approved boundary change the schools serving the area from Ironwood Elementary or DeGrazia Elementary and Tortolita Middle School to the new K-8 CSTEM School.
In accordance with ARS 15-341: Section 37, all residents residing within the area affected by the proposed attendance boundary change received communication, via U.S. Postal, of the boundary change. Prior to the Governing Board meeting an Informational Public Meeting was conducted on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 6:00pm at Mountain View High School, 3901 W. Linda Vista Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85742. Residents were invited to attend this meeting to hear the details of this proposal and provide feedback.
