Coyote Trail and Rattlesnake Ridge Recognized for PBIS!

 IMAGE: Bronze Medal with Thumbs Up Sign. Marana Unified School District schools care about providing a positive and safe learning environment for students and community. Recently, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports of Arizona announced the following two schools in the Marana district have earned the 2019 Bronze PBISaz Achievement Award:  

  • Coyote Trail Elementary School
  • Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary School

This prestigious classification recognizes schools for demonstrating high fidelity implementation and improved student behavior from using Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) systems. Winning schools will be recognized at the PBISaz Achievement Award Breakfast at the Black Canyon Conference Center in Phoenix on November 7, 2019.  

MUSD's district-wide integrated behavior system, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support, is the application of positive interventions and system changes to achieve socially important behavior changes. It is instrumental in teaching students respect, responsibility, and accountability from an early age. As part of PBIS, every school establishes clear expectations for the behavior expected in all classrooms and areas of school. School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is nationally recognized and implemented in over 22,000 schools in all 50 states.
