Hunter Holt Begins Term as MUSD Governing Board Member
Hunter Holt, a 2020 graduate of Mountain View High School, begins his term with the Marana Unified School District Governing Board at the first board meeting of 2021, hosted on January 14. Mr. Holt fills the seat formerly occupied by board member Suzanne Hopkins.
The MUSD Governing Board is elected to represent the community in exercising local control of public education. Five Governing Board members are elected for staggered, four-year terms during the November General Election. Board members serve without pay and are elected from the community at large.
“We are looking forward to working with a new board member,” said Dan Post, President of the Governing Board. “Mr. Holt is enthused and anxious to get involved and share a new perspective with the current board. His insight and passion will be an asset for the Board and the District.”
Mr. Holt graduated from Mountain View High School (MVHS) in 2020. He serves as member of the Arizona CTE Quality Commission and on the MUSD Comprehensive Learning Assessment Team. He currently attends Grand Canyon University and is pursuing a degree in Athletic Training.
Mr. Holt’s passion for the District began as a student. “My eye is to the future of MUSD. We have exceptional teachers and staff willing to support our students so they can thrive as individuals. I want to see MUSD recognized at a national level, and I’d like to work with the board and leadership to develop a strategy and plan to make this achievable,” Holt said.
