Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary School Names Roxie for Border Patrol’s Horse Unit

IMAGE: Brown horse stands next to border patrol agent in uniform with children in the distance. We're so proud of our Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary students earning the right to name the newest member of the CBPArizona Horse Patrol Unit!

Students from Mrs. Rohlik's 3rd Grade class Students decided Roxie would be the horse’s name after their winning essays earned them the naming rights. Border patrol agents presented the class with a plaque and certificate last Friday while bringing Roxie, and a Border Patrol canine team, to meet the students.

Students enjoyed meeting Roxie and learning about the role of animals in law enforcement, last Friday, November 22, 2019.

Please visit the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website for the entire story and to learn more about how animals partner with agents to perform difficult jobs in austere locations.
