Explore, Learn, Create: Estes STEAM Night HUGE Success!

 Students at STEAM station

Students tending a marhmallow towers station with dry spaghetti and marshmallowsIt was a night of fun and learning at the Estes Elementary STEAM Night, on February 17, where the Estes campus was transformed into a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) playground for families to explore, learn, and create.

Organized by our Family Engagement Team, the event offered unique hands-on STEAM activities for students and their families to enjoy. Attendees had the opportunity to visit 20 interactive stations set up by teachers, staff, and community partners. As students moved from station to station, they made coffee filter parachutes, spaghetti noodle towers, paper airplanes & kites, balloon rockets, and Ooblek. Students solved tangram picture puzzles and received take-home math games. A giant mobile planetarium was set up in the library, which gave guests a tour of our galaxy and its constellations. Students enjoyed a fun petting zoo in the center courtyard, presented by TRAK. Other community partners included NW Fire Department, Tucson Circus, International Wildlife Museum, SciTech Institute, TEP Bright Students, AZ Health Zone, Marana Dental, and Bayer Greenhouse.

The Estes STEAM Night was a huge success, with over 300 people in attendance. A big THANK YOU goes out to our amazing Estes staff, for hosting such an incredible night for our Estes community!
