During the last Governing Board meeting, the Marana Education Association (MEA) presented MUSD Governing Board member Mr. Dan

During the last Governing Board meeting, the Marana Education Association (MEA) presented MUSD Governing Board member Mr. Dan Post with a new award, which he was named the inaugural recipient: the MEA Friend of Public Education Award. This special award recognizes community members who have acted as champions of public schools and in service to the needs of students, educators, and families in Marana. This award was created especially for Mr. Post by the Marana High School Welding program with their teacher, Mr. Fischer.

Presented by MEA President Ms. Raina York, a teacher at Twin Peaks K-8, she was joined by fellow MUSD teachers and former colleagues of Mr. Post.

“Your dedication to this community is exemplified by the more than 40 years you have served Marana. That type of dedication is not for the faint of heart!” Ms. York said.

She added, “You have always been a cheerleader for public education through your leadership and servant heart. You have always been the first to ask how you can help our schools and support our students. It is with tremendous gratitude that we acknowledge the time you have dedicated to Marana Unified and your commitment to our schools. You are tremendously valuable to the district and our community for many years, and the legacy you have created will be a lasting one!”

Congratulations, Mr. Post, on the deserving recognition!
