Congratulations to Mrs. Vicki Pollock, a second grade teacher at Estes Elementary School, who received the Tucson Values Teachers Teacher Excellence Award! Aspen Galvan, one of her students, nominated her by submitting a creative heartwarming video. This recognition honors the extraordinary level of excellence and commitment that Mrs. Pollock demonstrates every day.

In the video, Aspen points to photos of her and Mrs. Pollock from her classroom, sharing that they do fun word work activities, art, and experiment with slimy worms in science class. “She gives my parents happy mail when I am doing good. And, she gives me awards to make me feel special. And I really do!” Aspen proclaimed. “I love my teacher, and that is why she deserves a Teacher Excellence Award.”

Andy Heinemann, CEO of Tucson Values Teachers, presented Mrs. Pollock with the Teacher Excellence Award after surprising her in class. She received flowers, $250 cash, a $100 gift card to Amazon or Jonathan’s Educational Resources, and a gift bag from Tucson Federal Credit Union that included a $20 gift card to Target.
