Deb Larned, Second Grade Teacher, Named Best of the Northwest Teacher of the Year

Deb Larned Deb Larned has been named the 2021 Best Teacher of the Year by Tucson Local Media. Having celebrated over 39 years with the Marana Unified School District, she has spent 36 years teaching second grade! 

 “Deb is a true ambassador for our school and the District,” said Dan Johnson, principal of Coyote Trail Elementary School. “She has continuously grown alongside the countless number of students she has served. Her leadership has helped us become the “Marana” we are today!” 

A proud supporter of public education, Miss Larned attended Willcox High School before studying at the University of Arizona. Beyond her work in the classroom, she also serves on the Executive Board of the Marana Education Association.
