Summer Success: Credit Advancement & Recovery

  • Advance your learning or receive additional support to master concepts during summer months! Summer Success offers credit advancement and credit recovery for grades 9-12.


  • Our Summer Success Programs are for students who wish to advance their learning over the summer and get ahead in their coursework.  All courses are offered (English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Electives) and Students who enroll in Summer Success can expect the same level of challenge and academic rigor as the classroom learning environment. 

     

    Summer Success: Credit Advancement

    girl with booksSummer Success: Credit Advancement is for students who wish to advance their learning over the summer and get ahead in their coursework online.  All courses are offered through Marana Distance Learning (English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Electives) and students can work at their own pace wherever they have internet access. Students who enroll in these courses should expect the same level of challenge and academic rigor as the classroom learning environment. 

     

    Audience: 9th – 12th Grade incoming students (2021-22 school year) in or outside of the Marana Unified School District. 

     

    • Students will be enrolled in one course at a time but may complete as many courses as they wish over the summer. 
    • Students who do not complete their coursework by end of the suggested enrollment period may request an extension if they have 80% of the course completed.
    • Students must complete 20% of their coursework in the first 29 days of enrollment or they will be dropped for insufficient progress.  Students must also regularly login into the program and may be dropped after 2 weeks of inactivity. 

     

    Session Dates: 

    • May 25 - July 30, 2021; Register by June 4, 2021.

     

    Cost: Free for MUSD students. $150 for out-of-District students. 

     

    Registration: Full Time MDL enrollment begins in July 2021 

     


    Summer Success: Credit Recovery
    (In-Person or Online)

    New this year for students needing credit recovery – choose from an online or in-person program! Students can work at their own pace wherever they have internet access or attend Credit Recovery programs in-person at Marana High School (MHS) or Mountain View High School (MVHS).   

     

    Summer Success: Credit Recovery is taught online through FuelEd. Students will have access to in-person teacher support at Marana High School and Mountain View High School or they may complete all coursework remotely with teacher support available via Zoom.

     

    Audience: 9th – 12th Grade incoming students (2021-22 school year) in or outside of the Marana Unified School District. Students must have previously failed a course in order to enroll in this option. Students with an NC from May 2021 may also enroll in this program. 

     

    Cost: Free for MUSD students. $150 for out-of-District students.

    Option 1: In-Person Credit Recovery


    Marana High School & Mountain View High School with a teacher on-site to provide support:

    • Session 1: May 25 – June 11; Register by May 21.
    • Session 2: June 14 – June 30; Register by June 4.
    Times: On-campus learning is from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Independent work time is encouraged.
     
    Transportation and meal services: Breakfast and lunch, as well as transportation, will be provided.

    Option 2: Remote Learning Credit Recovery


    Remote Learning with a teacher available via Zoom for support. This is student-driven, independent learning and there will be required Zoom times. 
     
    • Session 1: May 25 – June 11; Register by May 21.
    • Session 2: June 14 – June 30; Register by June 4.

     

    Times: Daily Zoom interaction expected at 11:00, 12:00 or 1:00 Mondays through Fridays. Independent work is expected.
